My wonderful sister, her husband, and two of her daughters visited us for two weeks, and we experienced many adventures along the way.
The first day that they arrived was rainy and miserable, but I loaded up the boys in the car and, in good spirits, we headed north to the airport to pick up my long-expected guests. They were waiting wearily for us when we arrived, but we got everyone and all the luggage loaded up so we could start their Swedish experience.
Our first stop was the hotel, where we parked the car, purchased our Stockholm Cards, and unloaded bodies and umbrellas. We first headed to lunch, then a museum. The Biology Museum, a small museum located close to our hotel, was perfect for my kids' attention span and my tired family members. After we left the museum, we headed back to the hotel to see if we could check in. The rooms still were not ready, so the kids played in the play area while the adults rested (and slept) in the nearby couch and chairs. After check-in, we headed to our respective rooms to get some sleep before dinner.
Meanwhile, Timo and K had been participating in a soccer tournament and were on their way to Stockholm to meet with us for our adventures. They arrived around dinnertime, and we all headed out together to find a place for nourishment. After dinner and ice cream, it was time for my jet-lagged loved ones to retire for the night. It was a good idea for our little family, too.
